Introducing the Palestinian Sports Network

The Palestinian Sports Network is a new, grassroots network linking Palestinian athletes and sports clubs, particularly in the refugee camps in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, with Palestinian athletes in the diaspora, and with international and Arab athletic communities, sports clubs, and institutions. The Network supports the development of Palestinian sports and athletes, partners with local sporting clubs, and promotes the inclusion of Palestinian sport within all international frameworks. We are committed to anti-normalization and boycott of the occupation, and we are launching the Palestinian Sports Network to coincide with the World Cup 2026 with a clear demand to the world: No play with genocide. Get Israel out of FIFA and all international sporting federations and competitions!

The Palestinian Sports Network (PSN) is a Palestinian sport, athletics and media institution that highlights the activities of Palestinian sports clubs and individual athletes in the diaspora. It works with various Arab, Islamic, and international sports institutions to support Palestinian sport and strengthen its presence in different arenas. The Network aims to support Palestinian sport across a range of athletic disciplines, including soccer (football), boxing, jiu jitsu, basketball, volleyball, futsal, athletics, and other individual and group sports.

Objective

To develop the Palestinian sports movement in the diaspora, particularly in the refugee camps in Lebanon, and to enhance cooperation and joint coordination with the sports movement in occupied Palestine, particularly in the Gaza Strip, in a way that contributes to strengthening the unity of the Palestinian sports movement and advancing its institutions, clubs, and athletes.

The name reflects the values upon which the network is founded:

  • Commitment to the Palestinian cause
  • Adherence to sporting ethics
  • Spirit of mutual support and solidarity.

Our Mission

1. Palestinian sport is part of Palestinian cultural identity

The Palestinian Sports Network (SHARAF) believes that sport is not merely a physical or competitive activity, but also a human, educational, and cultural space that expresses the identity, history, and values of peoples. In the Palestinian case, sport constitutes one of the expressions of Palestinian national identity and of the civilizational and historical heritage of the Palestinian people.

2. Palestinian sport cannot be separated from Palestinian freedom.

The network considers the Palestinian sports movement to be an inseparable part of Palestinian society and believes that it cannot be separated from the Palestinian liberation movement striving to end the Zionist occupation of all occupied Palestine and to achieve liberation and return.

3. Supporting Palestinian sport and athletic development

The network places at the forefront of its priorities the nurturing and development of Palestinian athletic talents and capabilities in the diaspora, particularly in the refugee camps in Lebanon, and in the Gaza Strip. It works to provide opportunities and resources, within its available and attainable capacities, that help athletes develop their abilities and participate actively in various sporting and community activities.

4. Anti-Normalization and Commitment to Boycott

The Palestinian Sports Network (SHARAF) categorically rejects all forms of normalization with the Zionist entity, particularly through the sporting arena. It calls for the boycott of all Zionist teams, clubs, and supporting entities, and for their expulsion from various international bodies, in accordance with the objectives of our people and their liberation struggle against occupation and colonialism.

5. Unity in Palestinian sport

The network seeks to strengthen cooperation and joint coordination with its counterpart sports movement in occupied Palestine and to deepen ties of joint work with Arab and international sports clubs and institutions that are aligned with the network’s overall vision, in a manner that serves the unity of our people and our nation and enhances the Palestinian presence in the sporting field at the Arab, Islamic, and international levels.

6. Mutual Aid and Solidarity Funding

The Palestinian Sports Network (SHARAF) relies for its resources and funding on its members and friends, as well as on direct popular support provided by supporters of Palestine around the world, in a manner that preserves the institution’s independence and decision-making autonomy and strengthens its national and professional role.
