Palestinian youth in Mar Elias refugee camp play football for their future

Palestinian refugees in Lebanon have been denied their right to return to their homes and lands for over 78 years, after they were forcibly expelled by Zionist occupation forces in al-Nakba. In addition, they face severe discrimination in Lebanon, where they are denied the right to work in over 70 professions.

Since the Oslo accords, Palestinians in Lebanon have been increasingly marginalized and pushed into forced migration, even as they hold tight to their Palestinian identity and their commitment to return. For Palestinian children and youth, sports and athletics offer not only activities but promise for the future.
